    About Little Lumos

Who we are, where we are, and how we work.

Where is Little Lumos Preschool located in Kakinada?+

Little Lumos Preschool is located at Door No. 70-7-62, Beside Madras Coffee, JNTU Back Gate, Stadium Road, Siddharth Nagar, Kakinada 533003, Andhra Pradesh. We are easily reachable from Sarpavaram, Ramaraopeta, Jagannadhapuram, Bhanugudi Junction, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

What age groups does Little Lumos accept?+

Little Lumos welcomes children aged 2 to 6 years through five thoughtfully designed programmes: Play Group (2-3), Nursery (3-4), Lumo Junior (4-5), Lumo Senior (5-6) and Day Care (2-6).

Why is Little Lumos called Kakinada's first Reggio Emilia inspired preschool?+

We are the first preschool in Kakinada to design our entire curriculum around the Reggio Emilia approach. That means children are seen as capable thinkers, learning happens through inquiry and projects, the environment is designed as the third teacher, and every child's growth is documented in detail.

    What are the school timings?+

Our campus is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The regular preschool slot is shorter for the youngest age groups, while Day Care covers the full window. Day Care timings are fully flexible — choose hourly or monthly arrangements to match your work schedule.

    Approach & Curriculum

How learning actually happens at Little Lumos.

What is the Reggio Emilia approach in preschool?+

The Reggio Emilia approach is a child-centred educational philosophy that began in Italy. It treats children as capable, curious thinkers and uses art, projects, and dialogue as the main ways of learning. At Little Lumos in Kakinada, this approach guides every classroom decision.

How is Little Lumos different from a traditional preschool?+

Traditional preschools often focus on worksheets and memorisation. At Little Lumos, learning happens through investigation, art, conversation, and real-world experiences. We document each child's questions and ideas instead of grading them.

Do you use screens or tablets in the classroom?+

No. Little Lumos is a fully screen-free preschool. Children learn through hands-on materials, storytelling, music, movement, nature experiences, and real conversations with caring teachers.

What does a typical day at Little Lumos look like?+

A day usually moves from a warm morning welcome and circle time, into atelier or sensorial work, outdoor play and snack, language and math experiences, then a calm reflection circle. Specific routines vary by programme age group.

How is my child's progress tracked without exams?+

We use Reggio inspired documentation. Teachers record each child's questions, artwork, conversations, and breakthroughs in learning journals. You receive structured updates and parent-teacher meetings instead of marks-based report cards.
